A family owned decorating business celebrating 67 years in Port Hope this month.
The family firm started with Mike Vosburgh and his father-in-law, Ev Kennedy, who teamed up to open a small business refinishing old furniture and handmaking new pieces in Southampton, Ontario. Looking for a base closer to a larger population and greater accessibility to major markets, in 1950, they set up shop in a former historic carriage works on the corner of South and Cavan streets in Port Hope. In 1960, they built a new headquarters on Rose Glen Road, Port Hope, the current location.
These days Vosburgh’s Home Décor is still the family with Mike’s son Brian Vosburgh and his wife Elizabeth and their son Michael Vosburgh in the business.
